If you're after a taste of the Lake District charm, the Traveller's Rest is an oasis you'll love. As we pulled up, the striking 16th-century coaching inn immediately set the scene for a cozy escape-just a stone's throw from Grasmere village. The warm, inviting vibe of the traditional bar, where I sampled some local real ales, truly felt like the heart of the inn. Our double room was an absolute delight, boasting breathtaking views of the surrounding fells and immaculate decor, which perfectly complemented its historic features. Each morning, we'd descend for a delicious, cooked breakfast that kick-started our days of hiking. Trust me, nothing beats savoring such hearty fare before hitting the trails. With plenty of nearby routes and the tranquil atmosphere, this stay was exactly what I needed to recharge, especially in good company. I can wholeheartedly say, whether you're a local or just passing through, the Traveller's Rest is a gem worth visiting again and again!
